Our Sustainable Practices
Beautiful clothes without compromise.
'Sustainable fashion refers to a clothing supply chain that is ecologically and socially responsible. It aims to reorient the industry and consumers away from the fast fashion model and toward sustainable practices in sourcing, production, distribution, marketing, and consumption.'

FASHION FOR THE EARTH
Sustainable & Ethical clothing made in the UK.
Our approach to fashion is based on sustainability and a responsible use of resources. We believe that by using existing materials and clothing, we can create beautiful clothes without compromising the planet, our people, or the design. Our collection is mostly made up of preloved, deadstock, and antique fabrics, with sustainable fabrics used for the rest. We want to repurpose the many beautiful things that already exist in the world and turn them into something new: the vintage of the future. Our goal is to do our part in taking care of the planet for future generations.

REWORKED REMADE REWORN
As of January 2025, The Well Worn has repurposed 782kg of vintage garments, antique fabrics, and deadstock materials — preventing the waste of 18 million liters of water, the equivalent of sustaining an average household for 85 years. We update our impact figures annually to reflect the continued growth of our work.

'In the UK we send 700,000 tonnes of clothing to recycling centres, textile banks, clothes collections and to charity each year.
350,000 tonnes, that’s around £140 million worth of used but still wearable clothing goes to landfill in the UK every year.' (WRAP)

MENDED AND REWORKED
As of January 2025, we’ve expertly mended and repaired over 250 vintage and preloved garments — including 90 pairs of denim and 150 sweatshirts — and we’re not done yet.

USING UP ALL THE PIECES
As always to ensure we minimise our environmental impact, all our accessories are made using the small leftovers from The Well Worn Dresses and Tops - we realy do hate waste. Stylish and eco-friendly – a perfect combination!
