Each garment is cut from considered fabrics and shaped with quiet precision, so it feels as good at 9am as it does at dinner. Easy, but never forgettable. Elevated, but never overworked.
This is a wardrobe built to move with you - across days, seasons, and years.
Responsibility is built in, not spoken about. We produce locally, in limited numbers, using reclaimed and carefully sourced materials - so what you wear feels right in every sense.

Our Story
The Well Worn is a contemporary British womenswear brand rooted in vintage influence, thoughtful design and responsible production.
Founded in Winchester by designer Emma Shaw after more than 20 years in the fashion industry, the brand brings together a background in print, colour and product direction with a longstanding interest in British manufacturing, textile craft and extending the life of clothing.
Collections are produced in limited numbers using deadstock, reclaimed and responsibly sourced fabrics alongside reworked vintage garments designed to be worn, loved and re-worn.

Positive Impact
The Well Worn has been recognised for its contribution to sustainable fashion, British manufacturing and creative education.
The brand has been featured in national press including Vogue, Grazia and FT Weekend, won the Eco Warrior Award at the 2025 Local Maven Awards, and been a finalist for the Winchester BID Sustainable Business Award for two consecutive years.
Alongside the brand, The Well Worn supports emerging creative talent through placements, workshops and industry collaboration. In 2024, intern Alice Daggett received the Gold Catwalk Award for Best of Graduate Fashion Week.
The Well Worn and its Winchester microfactory continue to champion local making, thoughtful production and a more connected approach to fashion.

Maria sews every garment with the kind of precision that only comes from really caring about the work.

Julie helps cut our garments — and there isn't much she doesn't know about making clothes.

What's in a name?
The Well Worn is about the clothes we return to instinctively - pieces that become part of everyday life through years of wear, memory and familiarity.
Garments that soften with time, collect stories and feel better the longer they are lived in.
The name also reflects the brand’s approach to design: creating clothing with longevity in mind, while giving new life to vintage textiles, reclaimed fabrics and well-loved garments.
