The Well Worn at the British Fashion Council Summer Party 2025
Celebrating a new chapter for British fashion at the Serpentine Pavilion
On Monday 10th July 2025, The Well Worn was honoured to attend the British Fashion Council (BFC) Summer Party at the striking Serpentine Gallery Pavilion in Kensington Gardens. Hosted by Caroline Rush, outgoing Chief Executive, and David Pemsel, Chair of the BFC, the evening brought together designers, media, and creative leaders to celebrate another impactful year in British fashion.

With soulful live music from Yazmin Lacey, the event struck a balance between celebration and future-focused dialogue — shining a spotlight on the role fashion plays in shaping culture, community, and climate action.
“It’s Time to Reset”: A Vision for British Fashion
The 2025 party marked the public debut of Laura Weir, the BFC’s newly appointed CEO, who used the platform to share her strategy for what she called the "next British fashion era".
Her priorities include:
-
Free show space for designers at London Fashion Week, starting September 2025
Read via Drapers -
Making fashion more inclusive and culturally relevant

“Fashion has the power to shape culture — but only if it includes everyone,” said Weir. “It’s time to reset.”

Why It Matters to The Well Worn
As a brand built on slow fashion, local production, and reworking what already exists, The Well Worn was proud to be part of a moment that spotlighted a more conscious direction for British fashion.
Our Winchester-based micro factory is a living example of the shift Weir spoke about — where creativity and responsibility go hand in hand, and where the future of fashion is measured in care, not just output.
The Fashion Community in Full Force
The guest list brought together an inspiring mix of industry voices, from media and retail to design and advocacy. Among the attendees were Amelia Windsor, Anita Chhiba, Bimini, Simran Randhawa, Jonathan Akeroyd, Rochelle Humes, Yinka Ilori, and many more shaping the future of British style.
