Vintage Handmade Indigo Cloth Mended with Sashiko.
Wonderful striped fabric in different faded indigo colours believed to have been loomed at the end of the 20th century. Hand-dyed in natural indigo pigment from indigo plants. Fabric is made by hand sewing narrow handwoven cotton strips together. Thought to have originated Mali-West Africa. As this fabric is beautifully aged it has areas which are worn and have been visibly mended with hand Sashiko Stitch and Japanese Thread. Unique one-of-a-kind - scarf #61
